Deep Tissue Massage in Los Angeles

Firm, focused pressure for stubborn muscle tension — delivered at your home, hotel or office. Ideal for tight shoulders, neck and back from desk work, training or stress.

What is deep tissue massage?

Deep tissue massage uses slower strokes and sustained pressure to work into deeper layers of muscle and the surrounding tissue. Rather than covering the whole body evenly, the session usually concentrates on the areas that feel tightest — commonly the upper back, shoulders, neck, lower back, hips and legs.

Deep doesn't have to mean painful. Pressure should feel strong but manageable, and we check in throughout the session so you can ask for more or less at any point.

Who deep tissue massage is good for

Clients who sit at a desk for long hours, people who carry stress in their shoulders and jaw, and those who train regularly often prefer deep tissue work. It's also a popular choice for people who find a standard relaxation massage too light to make a difference.

Massage is not a substitute for medical care. If you have an injury, recent surgery or a medical condition, please check with your doctor first and let us know when booking.

Deep tissue massage at home

After a deep tissue session many people feel loose but a little tired. Having the massage at home means you can drink water, take a warm shower and rest right away instead of driving through traffic. We bring the table, linens and oil, and set up in about 10 minutes.

Choosing a session length

Thirty minutes works for one focus area such as the neck and shoulders. Sixty minutes allows full-back work plus legs or arms. Ninety minutes gives time for a full-body session with extra attention on problem areas, and is our recommendation for deep tissue work.

Deep tissue is one of the most requested styles in our professional mobile massage service across Los Angeles.

Deep Tissue Massage FAQs

Does deep tissue massage hurt?+

It should feel firm but tolerable. We adjust pressure throughout and you can ask for lighter or deeper work at any time.

Will I be sore afterwards?+

Some people feel mild soreness for a day, similar to after a workout. Drinking water and resting helps.

Can deep tissue be combined with Swedish massage?+

Yes. Many clients prefer firm work on the back and shoulders with lighter Swedish strokes elsewhere.

How long should a deep tissue session be?+

60 or 90 minutes is ideal. 90 minutes ($265) gives the most time to work on tight areas without rushing.
